Parental Engagement

We use a range of ways to stay connected and keep families informed. Our school Facebook page is regularly updated with news, celebrations, and reminders about upcoming events. It’s a great way to see what’s happening day to day and to share in our pupils’ achievements. Through Seesaw, we give parents and carers a window into the classroom, showcasing children’s learning, creativity, and progress.

We hold Parent/Carer Consultations three times a year, giving families the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress, celebrate successes, and set goals for the term ahead. In addition, report cards are shared throughout the year to ensure parents remain well informed about academic and personal development.

Our showcases of work and Reading Cafés invite families into school to see learning in action and enjoy time together exploring books and celebrating pupils’ efforts. These events help strengthen the connection between school and home, and they highlight how much we value reading and creativity as part of everyday life.

We also recognise that supporting families beyond the classroom is an important part of what we do. Our ECO Shop, ‘Rooted in Grangetown’, offers practical help and community support to parents and carers, reflecting our belief in kindness, sustainability, and looking after one another.

By working together—teachers, parents, and carers—we create the best possible environment for our children to thrive: one built on trust, communication, and shared celebration of learning and growth.
