Parents and Carers
At Grangetown Primary School we value the important role parents and carers play in their child’s learning journey. We believe that by working closely together and sharing experiences, achievements, and important information we can provide the best possible start for every child. Our Provision
We provide a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child is valued as an individual. Our Early Years provision follows the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is designed to support children’s learning, development, and well-being through play, exploration, and meaningful experiences. We believe that children learn best when they feel happy, safe, and supported. Our indoor and outdoor learning spaces, Forest School opportunities, and caring environment are all equally important in helping children develop confidence, curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning. By getting to know each child well, we build on their existing knowledge, interests, and strengths, ensuring that learning experiences are tailored to their individual needs and encourage them to thrive.

Kiddiwinkles – Two Year Old Provision
We offer 15 hours of provision across five days each week, with sessions running from 8:30am to 11:30am daily. Our inspiring indoor and outdoor learning spaces are carefully designed to encourage curiosity, exploration and discovery through play. We believe children learn best when they are engaged, active and having fun. We provide a wide range of play-based experiences that support development across all areas of learning. By celebrating each child’s unique personality, interests and strengths, we help them build confidence, develop independence and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Nursery – Three and Four Year Old Provision
We offer 15 hours of nursery provision each week, delivered through daily sessions from 8:30am to 11:30am. Our nurturing and welcoming environment is designed to help children feel safe, happy, and confident as they begin their learning journey. Through fun, play-based experiences, we encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning, helping every child to thrive and reach their full potential. Our 30 Hour Offer
Working parents of children aged 3 and 4 may be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare each week during term time. To find out if you qualify and to apply for your 30-hour funding code, please visit the Government’s Childcare Choices website. At Grangetown children attending under the 30-hour offer can join us five days a week from 8.30am to 2.30pm, providing a consistent, nurturing environment where they can learn, play, and thrive. If you would like more information or need any help with the application process, please contact the school office. We are always happy to answer any questions and support you with accessing your funded hours.

Reception
As your child moves into Reception, they will join us full time. The school day runs from 8:40am to 3:10pm. Our exciting and carefully planned curriculum is designed to inspire a love of learning while helping every child reach their full potential. Through engaging approaches such as Drawing Club, Read Write Inc. Phonics, and NCETM Mastering Number and Mastery Maths, children develop the skills and confidence to become successful readers, writers, and mathematicians. We nurture curiosity, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning, ensuring every child feels happy, valued, and ready to thrive.
