Attendance Procedure

 

Starting Times / Finishing Times for each classes:

Nursery
Morning session 8.30am – 11.30am
Afternoon session 12.15pm – 3.05pm
Reception – Year 2
Doors open 8.45am
School begins 8.50am
Break (Yr 1-2) 10.30am – 10.45am
Lunch 12.00pm – 12.45pm
Break (Yr 1-2) 2.15pm – 2.30pm
School ends 3.05pm
Year 3 – Year 6
Doors open 8.45am
School begins 8.50am
Break 10.30am – 10.45am
Lunch 12.15pm – 1.00pm
School ends 3.10pm

If your child is absent from school for any reason, you must ring the school and leave a message, or call into the office giving an explanation (01642 455278). If you do not contact us, you will receive a phone call from the school office checking that your child is safe and asking why they are not at school.

As a school, we expect attendance to be 96% or above. If your child’s attendance falls below 96%, they will be placed onto the attendance concern register. Once their attendance is 96% or above, they will be taken off the register.

When children have lengthy absences, or frequently miss one or two days from school, we have to formally involve the Attendance Welfare Officer (AWO) to ascertain whether the absence is justified.  This may necessitate a home visit.  Parents have a legal responsibility to ensure that their children attend the school regularly and that they arrive on time.
